In its fifteen years history,
the JOURNALIST ASSOCIATION OF INDIA (JAI) has proudly
carried the torch for democracy, freedom of the press, improved
standard and working conditions for journalists and greater
Co-operation with its colleagues around the globe.
As a Non-Profit membership Organisation with eight ( 8 ) chapters
across the India . JAI largest membership bases are generally
concentrated in metropolitan areas of India , members are also
organised in the other areas throughout the world.
In addition JAI has growing number of members working throughout
world which underscores the rapid growth of media properties around
the world and points the way to future expansion of the
organisation. Close to one-third of members of JAI are students,
attesting to the organisation's empahasis on bringing young people
into the news business. JAI has also relied on leadership in the
Community and International/ Asian language media. The JOURNALIST
ASSOCIATION OF INDIA (JAI) was founded in 1992 and later register in
1994 under registrar of society act 1860 (Government of India), by a
few Indian journalists, who felt a need to support one another and
to encourage more to pursue journalism at a time when there were few
asian faces in the media.
JAI owes its founding to the vision of a small group of jounalists.
The JOURNLIST ASSOCIATION OF INDIA (JAI) is the Non-Profit
Organisation that speaks for Journalists/ media related persons
around the world, within the United Nations system and within the
International trade union movement. Founded in 1992, the JOURNALIST
ASSOCIATION OF INDIA (JAI) is a Non Profit professional and
educational organisation and regd. with registrar of society of
India (Government of India) in 1994, under the society registration
Act 1860 India .JAI serves humanity by encouraging young people to
consider journalism as a career, developing managers in the media
industry, and promoting fair and accurate news coverage. In addition
to social and benevolent activities, the JAI now manages a
Non-Profit fund that supports such mebership programs as continuing
education both at home and abroad and enhanced Intrnational exchange
and advocacy activities.
